Wakeboard Binding Set-Up How To

I bought a new 2009 Ronix Mana 142 board and new LF Shane, size 9/10 size open toe boots. I'm 5'11", 180 lbs, size 9 1/2 shoe. Intermediate slalom skier for 10 years. Never wakeboarded in my life. Did I do alright with my board/binding purchase?

I need to set-up the bindings and boots. Is this article pretty good on how to set them up?

Thanks.

Bought my son a Mana by Ronix for Christmas, he reallylikes it, his jumps have gotten higher at the cost of some distance. he is hitting the up slope of the oppsite wake again. At 14 he should be well over that by July. Based on his experiance with the board you will enjoy it. As for set up. Feet slightly more that sholder width and in a comfortable stance then merror that on the board. I had my son stand on the board on carpet without the bindings to get an idea of where to start. You will be making minor changes the first few times out.

Have fun

That is a pretty good article. The only thing I will say is that as you get older, I would move one set of holes in from where you would normally have them. It is much less strain on your knees.

Honestly I would try keeping both feet identical. Both angled slightly away from each other. Form there if you are having trouble. I would try angling the back foot closer to 0 degrees. Then if you are still having trouble I would try bringing the front foot backwards a little bit. I wouldn't change anything until you get up and start riding around. I have shown many people how to ride with the "duck stance" and if they don't already know how to wakeboard they just adjust to it.

I would definitely have both feet the same - at some point you'll want to carve, do some board slides and/or ride switch. Ducked out 9-12 degrees and one hole in from the widest setting. That should be your starting point and you can tweak it from there.
