Hi Crew, we were out riding yesterday and noticed my bilge kick on three times. i am a little nervous about this. i checked all the plugs and hoses and everything was tight. could it be from everyone getting in the boat wet or do i have a possible problem?

Filling or draining ballast tanks/bags? Leaking fittings or hoses.

Shouldn't kick on 3 times from people dragging water on board. Have you checked the packing nut? Ditto the thought on ballast fittings/hoses. I had a fitting crack last year. Couldn't figure out where the water was coming from at first.

Check the shaft packing. Your drip rate is probably high.

Water over the bow?

Could be normal, but prob not. Had lots of rain lately? Did you check the bildge and run the pump before you started the boat? Mayeb it already had water in it and people just made it rise enough for the auto pump to kick in. My auto pump has a knob to adjust when it kicks on. If I don't manually run the pump, it will auto bilge a few times during the day if we're boating.

Some boats drain slowly from front to back. So if you had a lot of water up front, it might take a while for it to flow back, thus kicking the pump on after you've been boating bow up for a while.

Cooler won't put that much. Either stuffing box ,leaking balast or water over the bow.
