Great wakesurfing video

Its was either mine or Ronnie's - I can't remember cuz he did it on both.

Mine is an '03 LSV and Ronnie's is an '04.

May be Ronnie's as I look again cuz the board has a nose guard on it (my Landlock doesn't).

It was on Ronnie's 2004 Wakesetter LSV on Friday.

I believe that Ronnie has stock ballast plus an extra 550 in each rear locker and having a 12 to 13 person crew doesn't hurt either.

You guys rock. That's a great video. I will totally try that soon! Man, I have to get a longer board to play with.

FYI - In the very beginning of the video he's laying down on the board. After reading the CA state law - closely- what he's doing is basically teak surfing. Only he has a board underneath him.

I always thought teak surfing was someone holding onto the teak the entire time, that's not how the law is written / and it doesn't make sense. Apparently someone holds the teak until the wake is big enough to body surf, then lets go of the teak and body surfs the wake - basically like what your son is doing.

Anyway, just make sure anyone back there has a vest on, as I'm sure you do.

- Can't wait to try getting up like that myself. :) With a vest on, of course.

Here’s a pic of me and Ryan behind Ronnie's boat on Sunday with the ballast mentioned above and full crew, the wakes that Ronnie and Brad’s boats are able to produce are incredible.

Nasty wake, in a good way. Have you guys noticed any noticeable surf wake difference between 03 and 04 LSV and maybe a VLX.

Also do either of you have the new Power Wedge that you can put half way down for surfing.

And to that end, has anyone out there in the Land of BU done any more research or retro-fit to be able to put the standard wedge half way down.

The '04 wake can be a little longer than my '03. When we have full ballast (plenty up front) and full crew my '03 wake seems to be a bit steeper than the '04. But both have excellent surf wakes just slightly different character.

No power wedges after market - yet.

We are curious what the actual azimuth and angle is when its deployed "half".

Ken has some workable theories on replacement brackets - we just need to know what one looks like when its deployed 1/2

I noticed a slight difference over the weekend, to me the 03 is a little steeper and turns perpendicular to the boat quicker the 04 is ramp-ier and longer

No but, we did get to play with one in Sept on the 247 and the wake was the biggest I have ever seen check out this Link

I have a simple bracket designed as soon as I can do some measuring of a hyd. wedge in the halfway position I am going to make one to play with, who knows I may end up with one mean wake or a walk through transom... Surprised.gif

Please be sure to keep us posted on the progress of the theory and design.

All of those pictures were with stock ballast and no extra sacs. I do have one 550 that I put in when we don't have a full crew.

Alvie is the best...I feel honored to perch next to him as secondary VAB.

Hey, TJ, John, Alvie, Brad it is always a blast hanging out with your crew, if we only lived a little closer.
