Bindings

Sure this topic has probably been done before, but new bindings are out all the time and I'm looking for something that is going to hold my lanky ankles in place.

Current bindings sit quite low around my ankle, and last season I landed hard enough that I sprained/twisted it and was out of action for a while. Funny thing is I got straight back up and did another set, but the pain came when I took it out of the binding, bad idea haha.

Anyway, I'm not sure of the pros of closed tow boots but I'm seeing them everywhere! Can someone reccomend a '08 or '09 boot, open or closed that won't break the bank. $499 is too much for bindings imo.

I had a bum ankle for a while many years ago, used one of that slip on ankle braces (stretchy cloth style) for a while before it completely healed. It worked quite well as it kept the ankle from collapsing while skiing.

Just for clarification, are you talking about wakeboard bindings or slalom ski bindings?

I went to closed toe Watson bindings for the same reason, I lost two seasons to twisted ankles, one with surgery over the winter. If you have weak ankles like me you will really appreaciate a high stiff binding.

goes for skis or sakeboards

Check out evogear.com they have allot of gear from last season at pretty decent prices, i've used thema few times and have never had any issues.

I'm talking about wakeboard bindings sorry.

REW - I tried on some watsons the other day and really, really liked them. But of course I then looked at the price tag and my wallet got out of my pocket, and walked on its own 4 legs out the door haha.

jcon - Thanks buddy, I'll have a look on there. Found some '09 Watsons $280 and some '09 Ronix Kais for $199. Have to try the kais on somewhere first.

Question though, I should have no problem fitting another brand of bindings to my '09 ronix board?

Sweet I'll have a look at ebay then. Hope they fit my board.

I had open toe LF bindings and just switched it up to some Ronix 1 closed toes. Problem I was having is foot would slide forward when landing hard / in the flats. With the closed toe bindings I dont have that problem cept for a lil toe sqishing when landing hard (im getting used to it). Im super happy with the ROnix bindings. Top quality and fit. I picked myn up at Evo Gear.
