Installing a Boat Lift

Recommended Posts

I live in Alaska where the ice does not go out until the middle of May. So putting a boat lift in the water is a difficult task. I have been looking for wheels but not sure if they would really help. The bank drops-off quickly so the front of the lift has the legs collapsed (short as they can go) and the rear legs are extended about 4 plus feet. Any ideas on how to install the lift without getting in the water? The lift is a Harbor Master vertical.

Lots of Coronas and limes.

I have a wheel kit for mine and use floats too. Mine are air bags ... I'm seen foam used for floats too.

Edit: Perfect reason to get a wet or dry suit.

Yep, that's it. I bought a diver's suit (12 mil?). $200 used. I am in the water sometimes when there is still ice on the lake, can stay in indefinitely.
