Loose Steering Column

99 Sunsetter. The steering wheel shaft is loose within the column. Basically you can wiggle the wheel up and down and side to side.

Anybody know of a way to tigthen up the column or alternatively know a source of supply for a replacment column?

GaryH, I replaced mine in my '95 but sometimes the bolts come loose in the tilting mechanism. There is a ball shaped part that has an allen or torx head bolt that can be tightened. A replacement should be available thru you dealer. It seems that it was over a $100 but that was ~6 yrs ago. The new unit has two bolts instead of the single in the older OEM parts.
