2009 VLX mooring cover collects water

Recommended Posts

I just bought a new 2009 malibu vlx wakesetter, and this spring it has been raining a lot. Every time I go back to the boat the mooring cover has a huge puddle / pond of water that has collected just in front of the rear seats. I just have the single pole and ratchet system provided by malibu. Does anyone else have this issue? any fixes by using other poles etc. or any other tips?

extension pole for rear support with a three way PVC fitting for the top to run additional supports to the rear corners of the boat. Or if you don't have the extension pole, a 48" piece of 2" pvc should work fine.

I thought of this after i sold mine but i think if you were to sew some straps on the back of the cs cover like cory at evolution does, the cover will slant and be taut from the windshield to the back of the boat so no chance of water pooling.

You would have to have some of the factory cover cut off at the back as well as the cs cover goes below the rub rail at the back (the cover needs to end above the bar at the back of the boat so you have somewhere to attach the straps).
