Forgot to drop my tower before driving into garage

Guys, I was 2" from having to self-declare having done the same thing. Brand new Titan III, new self-storage slot, 10' door height. We'd JUST talked about how easy it'd be to forget lowering the tower minutes before. As we backed it in, my wife--watching the corners--yelled "STOP!!!" which annoyed the heck out of me--I had both corners clearly in the mirrors with feet to spare. Being a guy, I yelled back "WHAT?!!" She said, "the tower's still up" and I immediately felt sick. Luckily she caught it just prior to impact with the cement overhead.

You guys are right, the powder coating was an additional $500 when I bought the tower. For not hitting the tower I just paid for my boat insurance for next year!

Another tip: never put the key in the ignition unless you've checked the hull drain plugs--even if you just did it a few minutes ago!

I was in a hurry to get the boat out of the garage in the morning before a day trip. I loaded everything except ice and lunchmeat into the boat the night before.... I usually put the tower (my T-2 can be up in the garage) down when I'm finished loading everything........

I bent the brace on the top of the door and needed a new door opener....
