Adding Docking Lights

Recommended Posts

uski2it

Hi All,

We often ski just before dusk and are coming back in just after dusk. I was thinking of adding docking lights to my Response Lxi. Maybe these ones:

What do you think? Do they belong on a Response? How hard are they to install? Any thoughts/advice much appreciated!

First off no they don't belong on a Response....Biggrin.gif but I've driven many times at dusk or at dark these lights do NOTHING except help w/ trailering at the launch ramp if no other lighting was available. In fact they make the late night driving worse.

I am skeptical about the look of them on a Response and if they work/are effective. Thanks for the feedback.

I wouldn't add them. They don't do much except shine directly under the bow to help with loading onto the trailer and attract bugs. I would add runway lights to the trailer instead if you want them for dark ramps at night.

I agree, docking lights are a huge waste of money.

I wouldn't put them on ,not bright enough, would be better to add the small solar led lights to your dock!!

I have these on my 05 vlx and quite frankly...I love them. They help me see, but I feel i am in the minority....I think they are worth the money. Better tham some tower light I have seen.

Get yourself one of those million candlepower, rechargeable hand lights. Their cheap & have tons of light.... right where you need it.
