Wedge Question

I'm buying a second hand wedge that I believe is an end of '04 model. I've seen the tons of posts with the screw problems. I've seen reference to short screws, long screws, phillips screws, allen screws, stainless screws, etc. Does anybody have the final word on what the "bad" screws are and what should be in there? This wedge was only used a couple times and I want to make sure it is right before using it. Also, is it truly a fastener quality issue, or are there problems with good fasteners just coming loose?

My wedge is on its way back from Malibu now. They said stainless screws were going to replace my rusty ones. I'll post a picture when it gets home.

I was wondering if I'd have any warranty at all second hand IF I had a problem. If new ones are still breaking, sounds like a design flaw. IMO flat head screws are not good under high load. The cross sectional area at the base of taper can get real thin, especially for allen head. The heads pop off like rivets. They should have counterbored the hole and used hex bolts or socket head cap screws. Which gets me thinking....
