Boat lift questions - 02 sunsetter lxi

Hey everyone - looked at a 02 sunsetter lxi and I think I'm going to make an offer on it. I plan on keeping it at my folks lake on a boat lift and have some questions for you all about what kind of lift you have. I'm going to assume full length bunks are required? Also, do you need to have a cut out on the lift for the prop, or can you just adjust the bunks (to measurements on the trailer) so the prop could never hit the lift? If anyone has any experience with good boat lift brands, please let me know!

I would go with either hewit,or nyman there both good hoists.I like the remote c.hydrolic,they're sweet in fast.you should go at least 1000 over boat weight,for cap rating on hoist.

Hewit and Flow I think are out of your area. I have a Midlander but I don't think you will find one there.

Another would be Shore station.

I and most people if not all on the lakes around me use cable lifts either vertical lift or cantilever.

The bunks will be raised for inboard but all the lift companies have the parts not a big deal.

I would use full length bunks. I would match the main bunks on the trailer but I believe it is like 22 inches apart from the inside of the bunks.

A covered lift is a big plus.

Love my Shore Station ... very well build and heavy duty. Even though it's aluminum it's a heavy beast. As far a capacity goes I'd go with a 1,000 lbs over factory dry weight or 500 lbs over actually weight that will be on the lift.

I've had a Shore Station for years and it has been a good lift. Maintenance parts are easy to come by and install (I had a leveling cable break on me once and it was a 30 minute fix). My Shore Station's bunks are about 3/4 the LOA of our boat and it does have a plastic prop guard. The prop guard is just there to keep the boat from over shooting the lift during loading. It's soft tubular plastic so if you accidentally hit it with engine in gear it will not damage the prop, at least that is what I have heard from friends
