Computron Dash

Recommended Posts

I have a 1994 Echelon with a non-functioning Computron Digital Dash. The dash lights up nicely when the key is first turned on "says Malibu boats". Once it runs through this cycle it displays "0" and that's it. Any help would be appreciated.

This is cause by 1 of 3 things. I'll explain in order of price to repair.

The good news is that Malibu has the needed parts, just call Malibu and talk to Cust Srv rep to get the part number and verify that it is in stock then call up your local dealer and order it.

1. Faulty IEEE prom card. You can try removing the card and cleaning the contacts, but I have never heard of a case that this has worked. About $75 to repair

2. The display module computer chip could be faulty. The display in the dash has a computer chip that process the data send from the computer. Through multiple troublehsooting sessions with Malibu it was determined that this could be the cause although unlikely. About $100 to repair

3. Computer brain is fried. $300-375 to repair.

There are many threads on here regarding this and similar issues with the Computron that could provide some additional history. But I can assure you your problem is one of these three. I know this cause I have the exact same isue and have exhausted all of my knowledge and resources to narrow the problem down.

In the end I did not feel that it was worth the expenses to order a new computer brain, but if you do get it working let us know here...
