I am planning on purchasing a chartplotter for my boat, and I want to hear about the pros and cons for different brands and models. I already have a handheld Garmin, which is great for hiking, but I am looking for a larger display and possibly better maps for river use. I have not tried using my handheld on the river yet, but I can see the smaller screen as being an issue. Are there any thoughts on required mapsets also, and are there better maps for inland waterways in different parts of the country, I do most of my boating on the Sacramento river near Sacramento.
