newbie needs some help

hi all iam look for some help just put up a new light bar on my malibu response 99 lx and wired it up to the spear acc switch on dash with a relay but now wen i turn on the lights the gauge panel miss reads all needles go stright up to top and read full when lights are off everything reads fine i have even hooked light power direct to battary with out acc switch or realy useing the earth bar under dash still for earth and i still get the same results has any one else had this or simmular problem thanx all
