boat damage

Recommended Posts

Warehouse roof collapsed on our boat. A lot of damage; the dealer believes it's totaled; I hope it is. Immediately following his statement he said we've got a lot of new Malibu's on the lot :-) My question: Has anyone had any serious repairs done to their boat? If so, how are things? My other concern is the tower placement. There is a lot of stress damage where the tower connects to the boat. Can they fix that well enough so that it can handle another tower? All comments welcome..

i sure hope this results in a new boat.

that sounds like a lot more fun than worrying about the old patched one.

good luck with it.

I might be inclined to make sure it was totalled

When you say warehouse roof, was it in your storage or at your dealer? If it's totaled your probably not going to get enough for a new boat but it's a good start

How did the roof collapse and what is the warehouse owners responsibility? Will it be their insurance or your?

There were a bunch of roof collapses couple of winters ago up here, usually they totalled the boats unless they were lucky and didn't have a beam fall on them.

All I have to say is WOW, I'm not sure I would store my boat in an area that was that unstable or unprotected. I'm surprised insurance companies don't check on the facilities with the way things are now a days. I hope everything works out for you and find a better place to store your new boat

Not sure that is a fair statement. They had an unusually large amount of snow this year that resulted in the roof collapses.

Lots of old barns and such that had been around for years and years, just had a crazy snow load that winter.

:plus1: Just a bit to much Global Warming down in that part of the country.

All most anything can be fixed but it sounds like it is at a dealer and if said it looks totaled well you may want to start thinking new or another boat. :dontknow:
