Aqua Lodge Houseboat??

Interesting, but add $10k for a motor and then add a semi tractor to pull it with and it adds up. Or just drop it in and moor it and be done. Personally, I'd have to have a motor.

I, as well, don't have 50k+ lying around.

Considering a lot of houseboats don't have more than a 50 or 60 hp motor on them, I don't think you'd have to spend more than about $5k on that. Ir spend nothing & drag it around with your Malibu.

Moving it from lake to lake might cost a little, which is typical for any houseboat. This is the kind of thing you'd buy moorage for, put it in in the spring, tie it up & not pull it out till the fall. Then do it all again the next year. Depending on where you live, you may leave it in the lake for several years at a time.

Their site shows some pretty nice boats: http://catamarancruiser.com/

That one is made in a way that makes them look like an RV Park Model & has little or no upper deck. I suspect this keeps the price down. But their other boats are a little more conventional. Pretty good price compared to houseboats around here.

And WAY cheaper than a lake house!!

I seem to remember a post a while back about some extra Chevy crate motors floating about...
