Top RPM of the 320

hey what is the top rpm for the 320 LCR MPI....I thought they are to max out at 4800 RPM. Mine will climb to 5100.....

As long as the governer kicks in you're fine. Maybe you just got a good one :thumbup: .

this is canada maybe it is in metric :-)

even at 5100 I think it is only doing 42 mph...maybe 43...but I did not stay at 5100 for more than 2 seconds as I thought I was "doing bad things to it"

The actual speed is not really that important to the engine, you can change that ratio with a different prop. A small block Chevy engine can easily handle 5100 rpm, even higher won't hurt them. If the boat is new, I would recommend following the break in procedure established by the supplier, probably Indmar in your case.

yep did that, as painfull as it was went exactly by the book.......
