side storage netting

I need to replace the side storage netting in my Malibu 2000 Sunsetter LXi. It appears that the top of the side panels are bolted on to the gunnels. However, I can not find the bottom attachment features. the netting wraps under the carpet along the middle. Does anyone know if it was nailed to the floor along the center span and ends?

I just removed all the interior of my 01 VLX for new skins. That piece was attached to the floor with two black plastic blocks screwed into the floor, the side piece was screwed into the the blocks. After finding the screws buried in the carpet, the whole panel came out. The net was stapled to the back, there was a small bungee cord connected to the top.

Hope this helps!

Where did you find the netting? I have a 2002 Response Barefooter and my netting is starting to fray..... Haven't had much luck finding a similar replacement.

I talked to a guy I know at the Malibu plant in TN. They have it there. I would think that a dealer could get it. It is a little different but it will look and work just fine.

I plan to put up some pics when I reinstall the new skins (assuming all goes well with the re-installation).

I finally found the screws; 5 along the bottom edge in the center and 2 on each end. They were exceedingly difficult to find since the heads were buried under the carpet. I am sewing on a new 2 inch folded nylon strap along the top edge.
