Trailer brake cylinders, Where do I buy them?

Going through my brake system on my trailer. The cylinders are froze up. I would like to buy new ones but don't know where to start. The name plate is wore off the trailer. It is the original trailer for a '97 Sunsetter LX. I guess, what is the brand name and where can I get new cylinders? Everything else works great, I had to clean out the lines and the actuator because the trailer sat for 5 years and there was no fluid in the actuator. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Here is a pic of the trailer too. Thanks, Kelly

I had one do the same on an older trailer. I pulled it toke it down to an auto parts store ( a good one) and they matched it up in a book and had it in stock. It was relatively cheep not getting it through a specialty shop.

Also they can be rebuilt.

I will try a Napa store and see what they have. Does anyone know what brand of trailer I have?

I think its most likely an Elete trailer. They are out of business. They were located in Ohio.

As mentioned they can be rebuilt if there not rust pitted real bad. Normally you can remove the end boots, pucks and spring

and hone them while they are still bolted to the backing plate.

I believe your trailer is a SMP, which stands for Sweetwater Metal Products, based in Sweetwater, TN. There is a possibility of being an Elete, but I don't think Elete ever used the two post bow stop design.

Thanks for the info! Its nice to know what the trailer is. I will take the cylinders in and see if they can match. If not, maybe they have something to rebuild them. Thanks
