As near as I can tell, there is a "quad-fin" option on the newer board (it comes with

two fins and plugs for the other holes; you can upgrade to different fins, not included,

on up to the quad-fin configuration?). There is also the "carbon rail" alternative.

I am pretty sure they had a quad fin and a carbon fiber option on 08 as well, I do not think there is any differnce outside of color options and styling. in 08 Blue lake had only a two fin configuration but then they released a quad version later. For 09 they were all Quad and the 2010 is the same. The blue lake is a super popular board and i havent met someone that didnt like it.
