Where to go over Easter?

Had planned to take my fam to Panama City FL over Easter vacation. The condo we rented sold, so we bailed on the rental and are looking for something else. A couple of families are talking about renting a house somewhere. Holden Beach or something similar would be simple - but crowded that week. I'd like to pull the boat out of storage and drag it to someplace that's like Tablerock, but farther south with hotter April weather and warmer water (60+ preferably) and that has cabins or homes to rent next to the water. LA, AL, AR, MS - anyone have any suggestions? Someplace you've been that you can recommend? Easter is later this year - 1st week of April. I know it's a crap-shoot for weather - but...thoughts?

Have you thought about Destin, FL. I grew there. Not that far from Panama City. Shoot me a message with your phone number and I can give you very detailed information about the area, water, and ramps. I take my family and Bu there at least once a year. I could also let you know about the lakes here in northern MS.

Destin, Seaside, Seagrove Beach and fort Walton Beach are all in the same area but away from the college crowd, The movie The Truman show was filmed in Seagrove Beach, There are houses and condos for rent and this is their slow season because it can be somewhat cool. Check with the chamber of commerce in any of these towns for availability. We have a condo in Seaside and many people around us rent theirs during this period. The beaches are the best in the world, really white sand!!

Have you looked at Mexico beach Fl. It is 30 minutes from Panama City. Small town get away but still able to day trip to Panama city. Here is a link to a special I saw online spring special $89 a night.

Looks like Gulf Shores AL won! Near the Emerald Coast and Sandestin resort... Beautiful beaches as far as we can tell, and a nice 900acre lake to ski on about 3 miles from the gulf beach. Thanks again everyone. I'll report back and let you know how it all worked out.

Beware of the jelly fish and man of war at that time of year. The Cobia maybe running too, have fun and let us know how the skiing is on that lake!
