Dash Plate

Recommended Posts

I have a new dash plate I was trying to replace in my boat. The new plate shows many possible locations for screws, but the access under the dash makes it appear difficult to get to them. Anyone have any experience replacing a dash plate.

Thanks

All from memory so might not be perfect.

If you are replacing the plate around the gauges.

1. Remove the Malibu emblem (2 bolts) at the bottom of the black plastic bezel.

2. Remove the screw at the very top of the black plastic bezel.

3. Pull the gauge assembly out carefully, might be stuck to vinyl and want to tear.

4. Unplug gauges, remember which ones go where.

5. Remove the black plastic bezel from the polished aluminum plate.

6. Remove all gauges and attach to new plate.

7. Reinstall.

This can be done from the front and you shouldn't need to do anything from the back.

Hope this helps.

To remove the mux bezel:

Use a tool like this

Gently work it in between the first switch and the bezel and push down and out.

Then repeat on the last button

Then do it on the top above where you worked on the bottom. Be very careful not to mark the mux screen. You should feel the bezel release but might need to work it loose.

picture of back side of bezel. You can see the small tabs that need to be released on the top of the photo.
