Steps in using a fake a lake

Recommended Posts

Crew, I've used the fake a lake many of times and sometimes it goes smooth and sometimes it doesn't. Anybody have the correct steps to use without the problem of the suction cup falling off. I know there is any easy fix to the madness of getting on my back and getting all wet before things start going right. Any feedback appreciated! Happy New Year all!!!! USA.gif

Put it up against the hull at a slight angle and lock it in place by turning the lower section. Then push the whole fake-a-lake in so that it wedges in tighter against the hull. Then turn on the water and let it run for a minute to make sure the fake-a-lake is secure and won't fall over. Start the engine and let it idle. Make sure you have water coming out of the exhaust within about 15 seconds.

I would also advise you to NEVER leave the boat unattended while the engine is running on the fake-a-lake. If it were to fall over, you need to be able to immediately shut down the engine.

Be careful getting in and out of the boat with the fake-a-lake under the boat. The trailer can squat a bit and push the fake-a-lake out. I check for water about once a minute when I'm in the boat. Biggrin.gif

Proper steps in using a fake-a-lake involve leaving it in the garage and putting the water hose into the water input hose. Kicking over a fake-a-lake would suck big time.

Heres a pic of the hose adapter I replaced my fake-a-lake with. Cost me like $10 & is made from pieces I bought at Home Depot.

all i have ever used is the pro-flushional, it clips onto the scupper and can't fall off/over.

The downside is you have to get under the boat to clip it on and take it off, but it is worry free.

Please do not attempt to find out where i got this photo from.

Bayliner Owners Club? Are we going to have to verify your ownership status?
