Silent Rider

My muffler has a sticker on it that says Primex Silencer. Made by Marine Muffler. Is that the same as the Silent Rider?

I know it was an option on my 96 Echelon but I bought the boat used so I'm not sure if it was ordered with it.

Slo,

The 96 Echelon had enough room behind the engine for a single large Silent Rider muffler to be mounted cross-ways. If you don't have that, the primex mufflers would have been the standard muffler setup.

The newer "silent riders" have a cross-over tube at the front, and are a slightly larger diameter, but are mounted under the floor just like the standard mufflers. V-drives use the large Silent Rider muffler mounted cross-ways.

Peter.

Thanks Peter. Is the single Silent Rider alot quieter than the 2 Primex mufflers I have?

Steve

Don't know Steve, I can hardly remember yesterday, let alone 10 years ago.
