Fiberglass Work

I'm attempting a rather large (for me) fiberglass project and need some advice on it. (I'm keeping it a secret in case I fail, then Bill-Air will be the only one who knows about it Biggrin.gif). What is the easiest, most durable way to add color and finish to the fiberglass? If you all ready have the object glassed, sanded, polished, and ready for a topcoat what is the next step? Do you use regular paint and cover with another couple coats of resin, or a 2-part epoxy paint, or a gelcoat, or some other method? Any tips and tricks are appreciated. TIA

Nate

HEhe, I'm so privileged. Thumbup.gif

Get in touch with a local shop who can help you. They will help with the process, the different layups, resins, cloths & gelcoats. You can also mix color into the resin so it's closer to your finished color. It's been a few years since I did it, but wasn't all that difficult. More time consuming than anything else.

Good idea but we could probably shut this topic down. I talked to a very knowledgeable guy at Sherwin Williams and I think I'm all set with the coloring!!!
