buying a new board

I have been riding a 2003 LF trip 143 for about two years now and really like it, but it is time to bite the bullet and get a new board. It has been used no doubt. I am looking for suggestions on which board might compare to mine.

Boards have come a long way since 03. My suggestion would be to try something new, I think you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't at least demo a Slingshot but it wont be anything like your board.

I'm going to second the suggestion to take a look at the Slingshot boards. I made the switch to the SS Recoil a couple of years ago and have loved it. I couldn't believe what a big difference a change in boards made, in particular to the SS. The things I liked specifically was the release off of the wake and the much softer landings. I'm getting older and I need to be protecting my knees and back.

The most important thing with a new board is that you need to demo, demo, demo. If you have a local shop that is knowledgeable that would be the best place to look. Most places have a demo program in place, usually allowing you to put the demo cost towards the cost of a new board.
