Is there any difference in these two transom mounting plates for the wedge besides aestheics. I am looking for fitment on my Echelon.

No, no difference. Yes, it's aesthetics. The "standard" wedge is black with brass side arms

and would probably look a little weird on that chromed mounting plate.

I am not worried about how it looks but I was thinking about going with the SS as I have a good price on one. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. But thanks for bringing up a good point.

Anyone know when they went to the SS mounting plates?

2006 was the first year for the SS backing plate option and 2005 for the SS foil. The new floating wedge is all SS.
