So if the depth finder sticks at 400 and .5 would the transducer be bad? Can I take a module from a friends 05 and put it in an 07 to trouble shoot ?

Do you know which model you have? It's either airmar or lowrance. As long as it's the same brand you can use your friends boat for test parts. Not the easiest thing to do since they are usually sealed to the boat with silicone, and the wiring is fun to fish through.

Chances are if your transducer is not "clicking" when powered it's bad. The wire under the dash should have a lable telling you which model you have.

The module says medallion on it.I would prefer to try a new module. I wonder if I can take the module from a friends 05 and switch it out? Will that work?
