The drain plug that is on the port side of the engine that you are suppose to remove for winterization my hot water for the shower is fed from that. I was wondering if I disconnect the quick connect that is attached to the shower temperture control unit to let it drain if I would have to still remove the plug from the block?

It would be a good idea to remove it and stick a piece of wire or small screwdriver in the opening to makes sure that there isn't any sand or debris building up.
