Does anyone know the Malibu Echelon weight capacity? I cant find it posted inside the boat. I just bought some fly high sacks. 2 450lbs. and 1 750lbs. and I'm wondering if I'm going to sink my boat with them all filled. I mainly am using them to surf any thoughts??

Look here and average #150 a person.

I would say start with one 450 sack then move up from there. These boats can be overloaded easily....I would say that all of them is prob over the limit and unsafe. If you have less than 4 in the boat, you might be ok. Just be smart and start small and work your way up.

Are you using a wedge? Let us know what weight works best to get the shape you want.

It should be on the Coast Guard plate. If I recall its between 1500 and 1800. I would start out on the light side and see how it does.

No plate on my 93. If in doubt call MALIBU.

Ok, so I called Malibu...Daisy is checking into it and going to let me know. I post up what I find.

She seemed to think that Malibu would be able to send me a plate.

Closed bow is 7 persons or 1135 LB.

They even put a new plate in the mail for me.

Didn't get he numer for the closed bow, but it is only one more person....so I would image you are looking at 1300 or 8 persons.

That happened with no ballast either. But I did have 7 people in the boat. Which is why I was going to tell you to take it easy on the weight. I was idling along, no problem, stern got lifted by a wave and the same time another wave was coming. Wrong place, wrong time, not really sure but it happened really quickly and if I wasn't an experience driver it probaby would have gotten really ugly. I was able to put it in reverse and the water came to the top of the windshield, but not over it.

It doesn't take long for these lower boats to to fill up. I'v seen it

My buddy caught the picture from his boat. He was taking a picture of a boarder from his boat, and caught me playing submarine in the background. It was his wake that did it. Of course he was loaded down in an Xstar.
