Ski-vee transmission winterize

We are supposed to get cold temps here tomorrow. Have already drained engine block, hoses, exhaust manifolds, but was looking at some older posts and it mentions draining water out of the transmission cooler (skivee model). Looking for some advice on this and what is needed to be done to drain any water out of the transmission? Thanks.

Wow it really is that time of the year! We are getting snow at 4,000 feet here in Washington, fall/winter came fast this year because we had such a nice summer!

On the front the ski vee there are two drain plugs. In most cases the ski-vee is too close to the fuel tank so the best thing to do is to remove the 1-1/4 water hose going from the ski vee to your raw water pump. It's a wire reinforced hose so you have to muscle it.

It is important that the ski-vee gets winterized as it can incur freeze damage if not drained.

Thanks Paul. Just went and checked on this at lunch. The two drain plugs were somewhat difficult to reach, but they seemed easier than struggling with the 1-1/4 water hose. After loosening both plugs a little water (perhaps 8-12oz) managed to come out of both, so hopefully did enough to protect from freezing next couple of days. Thank you for the quick reply!
