I am new to the site, i just bought my first Malibu boat, a 2009 V Ride, and I want to start wake surfing. What type of board should I purchase?

Thanks

Matt

Do a lot of research and demo if you can. You will get about 1M different opinions on this website but I know a lot of people like the CWB Ride. I have a CWB Tsunami and love it.

Im about 200lbs and 5'9" I have a CWB Razr its the bomb. I surf behind a 2009 23LSV with factory balast and the wedge fully engaged no extra fat sack. The board is fast $400.00 well spent.

We love our Ride. Awesome board. I have an Inland Surfer Blue Lake as well. The Ride holds it's own against the famed Blue Lake. Thought I would sell the Ride after buying the Blue Lake, but I just can't do it!

I've got the yellow loogie. I've also got the blue lake but after getting used to the loogie I rarely ride the blue lake anymore. The loogie is just that much funner.

Found an awesome deal from some sucker, apparently it was abandoned and neglected without fins on it. Whistling.gif .

for surf style i would look at the Inland Surfer Blue Lake or The Walker Project Bullet

for skim style the Inland Surfer Black Pearl Yellow is great. It is very, very easy to learn on if you get the out side fins and will help you progress very fast.

stay away from wakeboard company surfboards. surfboards should not be made like wakeboards.

for beginning (and all of your pals who want to check out the sport), the hyperlite in 5'4" is the way to go. It is stable and you will have a great time on it. There will come a day you get good enough to get bored with it and you may want an inland surfer or phase 5 or something, but don't go there right away. Your crew will get more out of the hyperlite and everyone will start digging surfing. Then treat yourself to a shorter board with less fins next year.
