brand new 2009 models will be at invoice soon if they are not already.

I bought a 2006 model with a $60k sticker (new) for $30k in 2009. They were offering me a "new" 2008 model for invoice at the time.

Not to my knowledge. The dealers just need to clear the floors of the 2009 models to make room for the 2010s. It is better to move them fast at invoice than to sit on them untill 2011 and take a beating.

I dunno where you are located, but Waterski America in Dallas is real good for running invoice specials.

Waterski America sells out of most of their boats though. I was there in early August and the only 2009's left were one VLX and one VTX. Gotta act fast for those deals, as they move them pretty quickly...

Stroker-Ace, sounds like you got a pretty dang good deal. I'd be stoked on that. A brand new boat is a brand new boat, a few years difference is well worth the $30k you saved IMO.

If a '10 is what ya want, haggle as much as you can. Walk away if you have to. They may be calling you if you do...

Is the '10 23LSV you're looking at already on the dealer's floor, or would it be a custom order?

Its true, I bought a $82k MSRP 08 23LSV model for $50k. Brand new. Not sure if we're supposed to post that or not but in this economy we need to help each other save a few bucks.

I guess it was good timing but at the time, and maybe still, nobody could get financed so the boats just sat. I believe here in temecula they are not going to have any boats on the floor, everything is preorder until the economy turns around.

Ya, I ripped it on Craigslist. I am totally stoked. It was the exact boat I was lookig for. I will post pics tonight.

And, ya. WSA rips through the boats. They have been #1 in sales for as long as I can remember. I will say that they usually price their used boats at the price they own them for. They don't mmake money on the trades, just the new units that go out the door...after the trade.

My main suggestion would be to keep in mind, these will be the guys to service your boat, save your weekends when you smoke a prop and keep you on the lake if you grenade an impeller. I totally agree that everything is negotiable, but just remember that you want these guys to be on your side. - Just my two cents

But I wish you the best, make sure to post pics when you get your new baby.

Good Luck.

Get the best price you can get, then walk out and call the other dealer from out of town and get a better price. Have them match it or you got a better price somewhere else. There is a HUGE mark up so dont feel sorry for them. Boating season is a month from being over so time is on your side.

They are going to service your boat regardless. Warranty work is warranty work, they get paid.

Actually, if you’re asking this question on the same day your going to the dealer you’ve already paid too much.

Trust me, the dealer doesnt always get paid for warranty work...and FYI technically dealers aren't supposed to sell out of territory, so if he does call someone else Im sure the out-of-towm dealer will be very reluctant to quote anything below MSRP.

If they refuse service, raise a stink with Malibu, and I am sure you can get warranty work done. These boats arent flying off of anyones showroom, thats just a fact. No one is going to pass on business, in town or out of town. Dont feel sorry for the dealer, if they want to make the deal, they will make it. If not, move on down the road. Your not talking about saving a hundred dollars, your talking about saving THOUSANDS of dollars. SHOP UNTIL YOU GET YOUR PRICE! You will find out real soon how desperate they are to sell.
