Ok here is my delima, i'm got a 2008 VLX with the Monsoon and Factoy 3 tank ballast.

with 2 people in my boat and no ballast/wedge i get a top peed of 42.5 on GPS this seems a little low to me, what are the rest of you guys getting?

loaded down full ballast and wedge and 7-8 people the boat is real sluggish getting out of the hold and while turning, i would like to start sacking it out, what do you guys suggest for a prop? I really don't want to loose and top end since i don't have much to work with as it is, and i live on a bigger lake, 15+ mile runs and i use my boat 60% wakeboard and the rest running to the cove or back to our dock or to eat things like that

I have an '07 VLX, and I researched this A LOT last Spring during the group buy (thanks to all who provided me guidance) . I ended up with the OJ 475, and I am completely happy with this. I went from the stock Acme 537 and it is night and day. I went with the OJ 475 over the Acme 1235 because the OJ doesn't affect the top end speed as much. It may not have the same low end power, but probably not by much. I find that I have PLENTY of low end pull. I regularly surf with 2000# of ballast and the wedge, and the boat has NO issues pulling. I also wakeboard with 1000# and the wedge (and 4-5 people in the boat) with no problem pulling up the rider. I usually put the wedge all the way down, pull the rider up and then bring the wedge up, but I really don't need to. One time, I did try pulling a rider with the wedge at the highest setting (most drag), and the boat had no problem.

I have not determined what my top end speed is, but I regularly cruise at 42 MPH and there is still plenty left in the throttle. I would recommend the OJ 475 for your situation.

Plus1.gif for the OJ 475 as stated above. I have a 23' boat so may be a little different but my results were the same as above ... no loss on top end and plenty of hole shot pull with fully loaded boat and ballast. Very pleased with the difference as I also upgraded from the 537 ... which was better than the 381 I had on my '02 Sunscape.
