Just curious if anyone on here is running the same boat I am and has added ballast. I am going to buy a bag I am just not sure which one yet. Just curious what you guys/gals are running in your Sunsetter Lx

I have a '95 DD. We use the wedge and a combination of different amounts depending on how many people are going out. That being said, I have two 550's for along the engine and a 360 locker sac. We go with that if the boy's are feeling ambitious that day, but usually just the two 550's with four or five people.

With more people we usually just put a 550 in the walk through and call it good.

I use a 450 lb. across rear seat and a 350 in the bow. I also ride with 4 people at an average of 150 ea. Still teaching them how to make a nice wake. I have wedge nice wake bbut could not get everyone to move to keep good wake. Cry.gif

Do you have a Wedge on your boat?

If you're only going to add one bag put a Rear Seat Sac in your ski locker, that will give you the best combination of wake size AND shape, especially if you have a Wedge.

If you want to add more than one bag the best setup will depend on a number of factors including whether or not you have a Wedge and if you're trying to set the boat up for surfing, wakeboarding or both.

I do have a wedge. Its usually only 2-3 people in the boat at a time. I would like to set it up for surfing.

From experience, if you are running the wedge and anything else in the back, you need something up front or you'll be propoising. In my 03 RLX, I put the wedge down, 680# seat bottom sac in place of the rear seat, a 580# fatboy on each side of the engine, and two 350# pro x sacs in the bow. The wake is awesome. I'll post a pic when I get home, but it's the best wake out of this type of boat that I've ever seen. It's clean, steep, and has an awesome lip. I run that weight when I have anywhere from 3-5 person crew (counting rider). If I have more people in the boat, I'll take out the. Seat bottom sac, put the back seat in, and put either a 440# or 280# bag between the seat and engine and leave everything else the same. If it's just me and 1 other person doin an illegal session, I'll fill everything up and add a 280# bag on the observers seat and when we get up to speed, I'll start draining it until the wakes are even.

Wow that is a lot of different bags. I bet it is pretty sweet. I look forward to seeing the pics

Looking at doing something similar for my '98. After the Rear Seat Sack in the locker, what would the next step be for a boat with the Wedge. Used for both wakeboard and surfing. Planning on piecing this together as time and budget permits.

Hey man,

Sweet boat!! I have a similar boat ('97 Sunsetter LX) I noticed in one of your pics that you have a custom ballast pump. How is it set up? Do you like it? I currently have a wedge and want to add some ballast. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Greg

Used to run 2000 in total with no wedge and a 4 blade.

500 behind the engine, 500 on each side of the engine and 500 in the front walkway. Have a couple people sit up front and you will have no problem getting on plane. Wake will be the biggest you can get out of that boat.
