Just for kicks this summer I tried 43 off at 34 mph while free skiing. It sure felt strange being so close to the boat and the lack of wake is very cool. However the spray from my buddies older bu was very hard on my legs!!

Ya but if you don't like the speed you can just reach up and pull the throttle up or down yourself. Crazy.gif

It's tough to ski the way I like behind the Wakesetter. My daughters still remind me of the little crash from last summer. I remember it fine. It sucked.

Last weekend Dave Mac was kind enough to give me a pull behind his Response (after a triathlon). Man is that a really nice boat to ski behind. A HUGE thanks to Dave for the pull. Clap.gif Too bad I was tired.

15 off is comfortable for me, and over the years I slowed it down. If I had a Response to ski behind all the time, probably 32-34, but now 30 is good enough. Dontknow.gif

At that length don't we have to start thinking about the whole CO ingestion thingy from the wake surfing thread?

32 off at 34mph is current favorite. In some ways I find it easier than longer line. The boat does more of the work for you (pendulum effect). Barely a trace of a wake at that length, and things happen much faster...so less time to think (which is a good thing  ).

I do almost all my skiing at 28 off, 36MPH. Sometimes I cut the speed to 34 if the water is a little rough.

I haven't played with line length much this year... I a skied a little 15 off and didn't like it nearly as much.

Historically, I've skied 30 or 32 @ 15 off.

This last weekend, I tried 28 off @ 15. Crossing the wake seemed more like skiing a W than what I'm typically used to. I'll likely try some other line lengths, but am most comfortable at 30 - 32 @ 15 off.

 Kinda slow isn't it.

15 off @ 28 mph? Biggrin.gif

Way to be supportive.... Dontknow.gif

You don't actually think he's skiing at 15 mph /28' off...do you?

I was just poking him for the typo. Tease2.gifBiggrin.gif

maybe you should let go of the rope and surf slalom

Did you try that length at 32?
