rub rail on 2004 Sunscape -- rusty?

Recommended Posts

Looks like some sections of what I assume is a stainless-steel rub rail on a 2004 Sunscape are rusty. Is this from the rub rail hitting the dock/pier? Anything to be done other than replace the sections? Will it get worse?

Thanks.

The rub rail is a solid Stainless, stainless can still have ferrous material in it that will show rust spots. Especially on unfinished stainless like welds or damage. You can file, wet sand, and polish out the scratch and it will go away. We've done this for plenty of customers before. Polishing takes a ton of elbow grease but it's worth it to get rid of the eye-sore.
