2002 Malibu Sunsetter Monsoon Problem

So this problem just sprang up this weekend. Il pull the boat off the lift, let it warm up and hit it. It will get up, then hesitate, then run amazing. This happens on first start up only. I cut it off, restart the engine and it runs like the first day i bought it. Second problem, i was pulling my cousin wakeboarding, the engine would bog down, lose massive power, nothing i could do about it. I would shut it off, restart it, it would run amazing for like 10 minutes around the lake, then do the same thing, bog down. I can restart it and it will run amazing for another 10 or so minutes and restart it again. What could be the problem, i was thinking it must be in the computer if it runs great after shutting down and restarting it. You guys ever heard of this problem? Would a simple tune up maybe fix the problem.

If the computer detects a misfire, would the computer go into a limp mode, creating the low power situation? that was my only thought on the problem. Thanks for any input.

The computer on your boat (MEFI 4) can not detect a misfire. The knock sensor will detect a knock and retard your timing a bit, but you would not even notice that. Limp mode, if in your ECM's software, only kicks in if there is extremly low oil pressure or if you overheat. Sounds like a fuel delivery problem to me too.
