Titan Series I for a '99 Sportster LX

After much back-and-forth, we are in the market for a Titan Series I for our 1999 Malibu Sportster LX. We have chosen to go with Titan, and the Series I in particular, for a variety of reasons. My question is, when is the best time [of the year] to buy? Will there be end-of-year sales, or are there typically sales before the season begins?

Also, has anyone run into any issues purchasing a tower and having it shipped to a dealer for installation? Or, does the dealer prefer to have you purchase the tower through them? I am an accomplished DIYer in the garage and around the house, but drilling into our boat makes me uneasy.

Thanks.

I don't know about all of your other questions but if you are a DIY kind of person just do the tower instal your self. You would save a lot of money. Just make sure to measure about 10 times then get someone elses opinions on your measurements and then measure once more :) . There is a lot of info on hear about how to drill through your gel coat without getting cracks.

I wouldn't recommend buying the tower from someone else if you're planning on having your dealer install it. If that's the case, you're better off just negotiating the best deal possible & going with it. If you install it, Idaho Watersports had a great deal on some that they were closing out a while back.

IMO this isn't necessarily something that is seasonal in terms of getting a good deal since the Titan 1 has been out for some time now.

Get the best deal possible and install it yourself. The hardest hole to drill is the first. Feel free to ask for answers to any questions you may have. Also I could not find it but, I know that there is a good how to install a tower page some where. Just remember if you use a regular drill bit, drill in reverse.

It easy...ask HeadHunter
