i'm brand new to this forum, and wakeboarding in general. i'm picking up my 07 vlx today and i need some advice on how to get it into the garage. the dealer said it measures 88 inches and someone on this site with the same set-up said his measures 87 inches (07 vlx, boatmate tube trailer, titan III tower, pair of alpha speakers.) problem is that my garage is only 82.5. so i need to create about 5 inches of space. i suppose i can let some air out of the tires, but does anyone have any other suggestions or know if i'll be able to get this thing in??? thanks,

You can get the lowest drop hitch you can find to get the tongue as low as possible that really helps reduce the height when you get it throught the opening. If your board racks stick up past the tower when it's collapst you might also need to take those off or get the titan lift off racks. Not sure what size tires you have but going to a 14" rim with lower profile trailer tires helps with height issues. This is what Extreme Trailers does in their "lowrider" option.

Really though, if the aforementioned posts don't work, you can remove the wheels and back your trailer in on a dolly. That is kind of a 1x off season storage approach, but it does get your boat into the garage for the winter.

Is the 88" height with the tower in the running/up position or will lowering the tower reduce this dimension? Just want to make sure the OP knows the Titan towers fold down and really help with garage clearance issues. We fold ours down to get in and out of the garage every time we use the boat.

You can go up or down. Your choice. Thumbup.gif

We have a v'ride with the T3 tower and the lift off racks might be the ticket here. The lift off solved all our problems.

Plus1.gif the titan 3 folds so easy. even though I dont have a clearance problem with it up. it's nice to know you can drop it in seconds.

88" most likely with the tower collapsed. Our '06 vlx w/Illusion would go under an 8' door with the tower down, but not by a lot. At 84", that's a 7' garage door. The ability to get that boat under a 7' door has been discussed a lot here.

If it's on an Extreme trailer, it shouldn't be that hard for any decent trailer shop to lower it. That's another part of the lowrider option that 06vlx mentioned, & would get you pretty close if not all the way under. That boat with an Illusion will fit under a 7' door on an Extreme with the lowrider option (albeit, barely), so it should work with the Titan.
