NEW TOWER FOR MY MALIBU

HEY ALL, I AM NEW TO THIS SITE.

I AM LOOKING TO GET A TITAN III TOWER FOR MY 03 VLX WAKESETTER. I JUST BOUGHT IT IN APRIL THIS YEAR. IT IS MY FIRST BOAT. I HAD A RIVAL TOWER ON IT AND MY FRIEND WAS PULLING A 3 MAN TUBE FROM THE TOWER AND SNAPPED ONE CORNER WHERE THE TOP CONNECTS TO THE LOWER SECTION OF THE TOWER. I'VE BEEN LOOKING AROUND AT SOME OTHER TOWERS LIKE AERIALS, ILLUSION X, TITAN AND SKYLON. I THINK I WANT TO GET A TITAN III. ANYONE KNOW ABOUT HOW MUCH THESE TOWERS RUN OR ANYONE A DEALER? THANKS

Add one for the Titan and take one out for the Illusion. I just read it was an 03. I think the Titan would look better on an 03.

simple, solid tower, you can hang all kinds of goodies on that thing with no worries. Just make sure you do the install correctly.

I chose other... I would go with the titan II to keep the more natural look for the year.

Titan III or if you are close to Knoxville, TN have XTP build you a custom tower.

I'd say Titan. Go with the I or II. I have a T-II. The only thing I don't like is the bimini. I had a T-I on the last boat and the bimini was much easier to use.

I didn't think MetCraft was making Illusions anymore.

That would make the decision easier.

Have you seen the above the tower biminis for the TIII?

I guess Titan doesn't make one for the TI or TII. I'm thinking about looking for a local shop who is interested in helping me make one for my TII. I've been saving pics of above the tower biminis on various boats for a while now & would bring these ideas to him to help get started.

Take a look around the various forums. Bad bushings, rattles, cracked fiberglass or worse.... the tower itself cracked by the rack mounts.

Metcraft has a terrible history making towers with Tige & Calabria. Even the early Illusion double tube towers were junk. And their support has been terrible. It's no wonder their belly up.

If not do you know if its still for sale and what boat it has come off??

I vote for the Titan. Though I've yet to have any issues w/ my tower itself I have with the biminy and racks.

I have an 08 Sunscape. It has cupholders in the front, in front of the windshield.

I don't think they are in the way, but wonder about the reduction in strength in that area.

Anyone know if this is a problem with installing the Titan III, or do i need to go with the newer Illusion?

IIRC they only make the T-III for certain boats...

Verify that Titan is still in business. I heard from someone that they are not. The website seems to show them alive but that could be just the website. I like the looks of the Illusion on the Malibu's but I think the Titans are nice too. What about Pro-Flight, I think they are in central CA.
