NGK TR5

Recommended Posts

I was going to try some NGK TR5 plugs in my 2001 Monsoon. They are a direct match to the AC MR43LTS. They come gapped at .040 which is spec for NGK. Should I leave them at .040 or gap them at .045 per Indmar manual?

According to the book I have it shows 98-01 with 8 bolt manifold the AC MR43LTS, Champ. RS12YC, and NGK BPR6EFS all show .045" I'd go with .045" a little more gap is a little more spark, a better chance of not fouling in our over-cooled engines.

I switched to the NGK TR5 in the HH and it runs better now. I was having a misfire issue and the new plugs/gap cured the issue. The TR5 plug comes gapped at .40, the TR55 comes gapped at .55.
