Model ID?

I am looking at a 2001 Malibu Wakesetter VLX, I think? On the tag by the throttle the model says : sunsetter vlx. Is it a wakesetter vlx or a sunsetter vlx?

I'm no "malibu-dude" but for the boat to be a wakesetter, all it would have on top of the sunsetter vlx would be MLS (with graphics), which is the fat sack in the ski locker, factory plumbed and wired)), probably a wedge, and probably a factory tower.

You should read this, and this.

Hope it helps.

Thanks, it has the MLS and the ski locker ballast. I just thought it was strange that the tag on the boat did not say wakesetter for the model.

My 01 Wakesetter VLX also says Sunsetter on the weight sticker, but it has the wake hull, MLS, and factory installed center ballast and tower. The original decals said Wakesetter.

I got a little worried when I first noticed the Sunsetter on the weight sticker. But when I checked the diamond and wake hulls posts I confirmed its has the wake hull.

Also- the original title and bill of sale states Wakesetter VLX.

How about the HIN? I believe that MB2K is Wakesetter, I don't know if that covers Sunsetter also.

Sunsetter or Wakesetter, it still got the best wake of any boat I ridden behind! (additional ballast has been added)
