04 Monsoon 340 fuel filter replacement

Recommended Posts

Ok I have the fuel filter and its location but I believe that have to bleed the system at the schraeder valve. Where is it and is it necessary to do that to change the filter.

That part of the line isn't pressurized, except by gravity, so there will be a little seep, throw down a rag. As eyepeeler said, it's next to the port side muffler or directly up from that almost under the hinge of the engine cover on mine, same boat and year, but accessed via the hatch between the engine and the back seat.

On my 2003 it is an inline filter located in the stern of the boat. I believe that this is the one....

inline fuel filter

It is accessed by removing the rear panel of the ski locker. The toughest part is finding it. An extra pair of hands makes it a quick switchout w/ minimal spillage. No need to bleed out air.

I worried about that too when I did mine but it couldn't be any easier. Get some rags to catch the little bit of fuel that will leak out, unscrew your hose clamps, take old out, put new in, tighten hose clamps, done.

I think they moved the location from the trunk to under the floor in '04 since it was a pain to have to peel open the trunk area every time you needed to change the filter.
