It's a cast piece so these things can happen, must of had some porosity in the metal and that hole magnifies the stress in that area.

What were you pulling when it cracked?

I had my tower crack at the board racks and knock a chunk out. The dealer replaced under warranty saying it was caused by the play in the swivel board racks. We were traveling down the river during a Malibu customer appreciation poker run and hit back to back large waves. Got to love the Malibu's but a group of fellow boaters waves did me in.

Actually i can still pull my kids around, but im not tempting my fate(200lbs).

I did not notice when this happened. I found it when unloading the wakeboard from the rack.

It is a weak point due to holes of the speakers and rack being so close together.

I have not inspected the tower if its a cast piece or just steel covered with fiberglass.

I think that most force is applied when you hit a wave hard. The pulling of a skier is not a problem.

How long is the warranty period for the tower?

Should be covered under the 36 month bumper to bumper warranty.
