Tar and Road Grime

Recommended Posts

Great road trip to the lake last weekend.

Pulled the boat out and gave hull Mcguires quick detail and 303 to vinyl. Everything looked great.

When I got home I noticed a fair amount of tar and grime on the hull.

What do you people use to get rid of this without damaging gelcoat and smearing the tar? Thanks for any suggestions.

Two products were recommended

WD -40 I have used it for years works great

Other folks suggested Goof Off as well.

On my car I use Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover. Just work it in real good with a rag and then wash it off and its all gone. You may need to scrub real hard if its been there for a while.

The Turtle Wax brand in the spray bottle (non-aerosol) is the only kind that I'll buy anymore.
