MLS problem

Recommended Posts

I put the boat in the lake and the MLS bladder fills up with water. Why is that? Does the pump have a valve to prevent inflow?

The boat overfilled the ski locker and eventually the compartment and into the rear bilge area and flooded the engine,

Do I replace the MLS fill pump or is there a valve?

Thanks for any hints

There should be a valve that you can turn (mine are long blue handles) right next to the fill pump that goes through your hull. Shut the valve and that should stop the leak. If you leaked water into the ski locker then you have a leak somewhere, either a cracked pump or a hose that is disconnected/cut/punctures.

Hope that helps.

That depends on what year his boat is. Up until about 2003 (I think) there were no shut off valves anywhere under the water line of the boats.

To prevent the sac from filling itself you would need to either install the valve or install a vented loop.

As you said, if water filled the ski locker and then into the bilge, there's def. a leak in the (Malibu Leak System)
