ECM Question

Does anyone know if switching off the battery often, say after each outing, eventually hurts the ECM? I had heard this once and don't know if it is fact or fiction. I just had to replace my ECM (MEFI2) on my '99, and I don't want to bake it, it was expensive!!

it does not effect it, power is cut to the ecm every time you turn the key off..

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure how these were wired, if switching off the battery was like disconnecting the battery on a vehicle to clear the codes.

Try not to switch the battery switch off/on with the key in the on position. Otherwise should be fine.
