Swim Platforms

Hey everyone...

I realized that I love the idea of a white fiberglass platform for my VTX, but I've never seen one - only on Malibu's site (an option when you custom build your boat). Has anyone seen one in person? Any pros/cons? Also, any idea how I might be able to purchase one? Most of the Malibu dealers in my area were Cope & McPhetre's/Ultimate Watersports, so all things Malibu are a little harder to come by nowadays.

Also, has anyone ever painted their tower? Someone mentioned it to me because ours may need a new paint job due to scratches incurred during traveling, etc (though not in the near future) and it seemed almost too easy. Along with the white platform, I'm wondering if I might be able to take my Illusion X tower from black to white via sanding/powder-coating - all done by a professional, of course. Is this just an awful idea? Would I be better off with a new tower?

Thanks for any thoughts - I don't want to attempt anything like this without getting opinions from people who may have attempted it themselves!!

BantamVTX's platform is white (below). If I ordered a boat the platform would be white! Color shows scratches and a buddy who takes super care of his boat has a platform that is fading.

Is there anyway to change the color of the top (unsure what it's called) - the black/white pairing sort of kills the effect. :) I figured scratches would be an issue, but was hoping it might be less noticeable in white than other colors for the same reason most people choose white as an exterior color in strategic places!

Thanks for the photo - was that ordered directly from Malibu in Merced?

Traxx - the white w/grey might work. Less contrast than the stock full black.

Someone should be able to confirm if the towers are powdercoated when ordered with custom colors. If so no reason not to do it. Just protect any machined areas from sandblasting.
