Depth Finder Module Location

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to trouble shoot my depth finder before taking the boat in to the dealer. If it's just a bad connection I don't see the need to take it in to them.

Symptoms:

2009 Response LXI with the factory installed depth finder

When I "key on" and the gages do a self test, the depth shows up in the speedometer with the usual "888" then it all disappears like I don't have the depth option. It also does not show up in the malibu cruise display like it used to. According to my dealer service rep it's due to a lack of a signal getting to the gages. Ok simple enough thing to check.....except

Where is the depthfinder module located on a 2009 Response LXI? Under the dash the only 2 boxes I have are the Medallion units for the MUX switches and the instrument cluster. Any one have some input? I know what the module is supposed to look like based on picures from another thread here. They must have mounted it some where thats not obvious. I checked behind the instrument cluster, behind the foot rest and to the best of my ability while doing my impression of gumby, under the throttle lever area where the breakers are located.

Thanks in advance on any pointers where else I should look.

I had the same issue with my 2010 VRide so I phoned the dealer and was told that there was no depth finder installed in the boat.
